How Pilates can help you?
Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates in the early part of 20th Century. He used his deep understanding of the body, to develop over 600 exercises on the 'apparatus' and 'mat', originally for dancers and atheletes. His aim was to condition the body for optimum movement and alignment, using springs, pulleys and gravity.
Subsequently, this technique has evolved with current knowledge and the original 600 exercises have now multiplied and been adapted for everyday use to improve posture, strength and mobility.
Pilates is a safe, effective and non-impact activity which can be beneficial for developing and maintaining fitness, strength, flexibility and co-ordination but also for people who experience conditions such as poor posture, back pain, hyper-mobility, fibromyalgia, pregnancy, osteoporosis, stress and anxiety.
